Which patient type is best for Lialda?
For patients who require mesalamine delivered to and throughout the colon3
Lialda is the first and only once-daily oral 5-ASA approved for the induction of remission in patients with active, mild to moderate ulcerative colitis (UC).
Safety and effectiveness of Lialda beyond 8 weeks have not been established.
- Lialda induces remission with once-daily dosing
- Lialda combines a pH-dependent, gastro-resistant coating with a tablet core containing 5-ASA with hydrophilic and lipophilic excipients
- Mesalamine begins to be released at a pH of 7 or greater, normally in the terminal ileum
- Studies suggest that mesalamine is distributed throughout the colon
