Lialda Achieved Mucosal Healing1,3

Over 2/3 of patients taking Lialda achieved mucosal healing.1,3

  • Mucosal healing is defined as endoscopic remission, which was a modified sigmoidoscopy score of ≤1 (with no mucosal friability) at week 81

Lialda tablets are indicated for the induction of remission in patients with active, mild to moderate ulcerative colitis.

A second clinical trial confirmed Lialda achieved mucosal healing superior to placebo.6*

  • 71.9% of patients taking Lialda 4.8g/d QD (n=89) vs 38.8% for placebo (n=85)

A 1-year study by Frøslie et al gives further strength to the use of mucosal healing as a clinical indicator and treatment goal in inflammatory bowel disease.7†

Lialda was not one of the treatments in this study.
